Uncharted: “From Video Game to the Big-Screen!” – Journal with Yas #10

I found Uncharted to be a really fun action packed adventure film with some good comedy elements! As someone who has never played Uncharted, I was purely just watching this as a film without constantly comparing it to the games trying to catch out flaws. I always enjoy treasure hunt type of story lines so knew I would probably like it; it reminded me of the Disney National Treasure films and I haven’t watched anything similar in a long time so this was good fun.

I liked the combination of Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg as the main characters, even though I did feel like I was watching Peter Parker in a different universe. However, given that Tom Holland had pitched this idea as a prequel film to the games, I didn’t have an issue with the casting. Strangely enough, I still managed to catch the cameo appearance from Nolan North and understood he must have voiced the character of Nathan Drake in the games – one of those things you just know without actually knowing. Overall I thought this was a great adventure family film that doesn’t take itself too seriously and glad I watched this one in the cinema to really be in the moment!
