All MCU Movies Ranked from Worst to Best

On the topic of Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies Ranked, our fascination with superhero movies goes a long way back. Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and company have made sporadic appearances on the big screen, sometimes even in teams like Fantastic Four and X-Men franchises. And yet, 2008’s Iron Man was a bold experiment in the genre, being the first self-produced film from Marvel Studios. This was the start of a series of movies that was unlike anything we had ever seen before and it has become standard for people to wait for end credits scene.

Although, not all the films in the series have been as good as that first time Robert Downey Jr donned the Iron Man suit, they have all had one thing in common: They have enthralled a wide audience, they have made superhero movies cool again; it is not just something for the nerdy comic book fan anymore. While the solo movies have given us background on the specific heroes, the Avengers movies has gone beyond the brief and created epic adventures that have captured our collective imaginations. 32. Quantumania

Directors – Peyton Reed
Starring – Paul Rudd & Evangeline Lilly

Quantumania is directed by Peyton Reed and written for the screen by Jeff Loveness. The 31st entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in the titular roles, with Jonathan Majors, Kathryn Newton, and others. The newest adventure carries us back to the Quantum Realm, where Scott Lang and his family explore this uncharted realm. They soon learn of a mysterious threat unlike any they have ever seen before, waiting for them in this land between time and space.


31. Eternals (2021)

Directors – Chloé Zhao
Starring – Jolie, Madden, Chan, Hayek

Last on the list of Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies Ranked, the newest MCU installation in Phase Four, Eternals, is directed by Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao of Nomadland fame. The storyline of the movie highlights a band of super-powered aliens who have lived on Earth for thousands of years to protect it from a species of evil creatures called Deviants.


30. Captain Marvel (2019)

Directors – Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck
Starring – Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson

Captain Marvel is the company’s first female-led Superhero film, starring the Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson in the lead role along with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his character as Nick Fury. The movie kicks off after a mission goes sideways — Vers, a warrior, gets separated from her group and is stranded on Earth. However, her life takes an unusual turn after she teams up with Fury, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.


29. The Incredible Hulk (2008)

Director – Louis Leterrier
Starring – Edward Norton & Liv Tyler

The Incredible Hulk is the second movie in the MCU ,which got retconned after Mark Ruffalo replaced Norton in the future Avengers films. Although, it received praise for its action, production design and the portrayal of the character, The Incredible Hulk remains as an abandoned flick in the MCU, which has no significance.


28. Iron Man 3 (2013)

Director – Shane Black
Starring – Robert Downey Jr. & Gwyneth Paltrow

Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies Ranked: Fast and exhilarating, Iron Man 3 doesn’t deal with many different things; the same old classic story narrated with tiny changes which make sense throughout the film. The storyline begins when Tony Stark’s world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution.


27. Iron Man (2008)

Director – Jon Favreau
Starring – Robert Downey Jr. & Gwyneth Paltrow

Going back to where it all started, Iron Man (2008), the very first entry in the MCU, the building block kicks off when Tony Stark, an industrialist, is captured. Eventually, he then goes on to construct a high-tech armoured suit to escape. Once he manages to escape, he decides to use his suit to fight against evil forces and save the world.


26. Iron Man 2 (2010)

Director – Jon Favreau
Starring – Robert Downey Jr. & Gwyneth Paltrow

Iron Man 2 introduces us to the S.H.I.E.L.D, which connects Stark to other pivotal characters like Nick Fury and Natasha Romanoff. It begins when Stark is under pressure from different sources, including the government, to share his technology with the world. He must find a way to fight them while also tackling his other enemies.


25. Thor (2011)

Director – Kenneth Branagh
Starring – Chris Hemsworth & Natalie Portman

Thor is one of the most beloved character in the MCU, but this Asgardian wasn’t welcomed with open arms and applause. The story begins with our lead character, who is exiled by his father, Odin, the King of Asgard, to the Earth to live among mortals. When Thor lands on Earth, his trusted weapon Mjolnir is discovered and captured by S.H.I.E.L.D.
