Luca Review: A Pleasing Watch!

Director Arun Boseâ€™s 2021 movie, Luca on AHA Video, is a romantic thriller, which is a different combination in conventional movie-making. Malayalam heartthrob – Tovino Thomas plays the lead role alongside Ahaana Krishna, and within the 151-minute runtime, the film flows between a romantic tale stitched with a criminal investigation.

Luca on AHA Video explores the intense love story between Luca (Tovino Thomas) and Niharika (Ahaana Krishna), who accidentally come across at a Biennale. The romance between them is essentially psychic that carries us to another world of artistic elements. The tale of Luca and Niharika is opened up at the time of an investigation, handled by Akbar Hussein (Nithin George) and this inquiry will fill the mysterious tale of Luca. The investigation connects to various occasions that Luca had lived through and the trauma he faced in the life.

The writers of Luca, Arun Bose, and Mridul George have crafted a clean script, with the right blend of romance elements and thrills. The story is blended well with the euphonious songs by Sooraj S. Kurup, and the background score enhances its feel. The cinematography by Nimish Ravi elevates the movie with a few spectacular shots, adding beauty to the artistic elements.

Tovino Thomas gives a fabulous performance as the charming and energetic individual and he displayed the right balance in portraying the emotional elements. Ahaana Krishna elevated the film with a very pleasing performance, and the chemistry between the duo was perfectly rendered on screen.

On the brighter side, much to the filmmaker Arun Bose’s credit, the filmÂ broke quite a few stereotypes, and one of them is the bland unconventional story. The dramatic part of the film will leave a series of questions on everyone’s minds, but the romantic part of the film is so pleasing to watch. A must-watch.
