Don’t Fuck With Cats on Netflix Review: Disturbing Yet Intriguing!
Directed by Mark Lewis, Don’t Fuck With Cats – a three-episode series on Netflix that focuses on a group of internet vigilantes who try to track down an asinine individual who posted videos of himself killing kittens on the interwebs. First off, I’m never really into documentaries, except, I’ve watched short documentaries like “Explained” or the much talked about documentary – “Wild Wild Country” about the controversial Godmen Osho.

But, when I watched the trailer of Don’t Fuck With Cats, it intrigued me. And most importantly, it made me curious. The internet is like an ocean, and you never try to track down someone else unless they leave their footprints. So, I decided to catch up with the documentary and see what the fuss is all about.
Don’t Fuck With Cats is about a merciless, psychotic man, who goes on a killing spree. He starts by uploading a video of himself killing two cats. And when certain people watch this video, they decide to open a Group on Facebook and do the usual to hunt him down and make him pay for his deeds. Much to everyone’s surprise, he is more than just a guy who tortures animals. And the rest of the documentary accounts how these bunch of internet vigilantes come together to take the psycho down.
The most striking aspect of the documentary, despite it being about a sick individual, is Andrew Skeet’s background score. From the beginning to the end, the music kept me entertained and is very much similar and comparable to the score of an actual feature film.
Moving on to the direction, Mark Lewis went through a ton of groundwork for the documentary and presented the true events in such a manner, that it is disturbing at times. With a run time less than 180 minutes, Don’t Fuck With Cats could be a good backup to watch if you have nothing else. It is dark, disturbing-yet-intriguing to know about the life of a psychopath.
