Money Heist S5 P1 Review: Sets up a Solid Base for a Grand Finale!

Part one of the two-part finale of the most popular Netflix series La Casa de Papel, aka Money Heist, started streaming amid much fanfare. This highly-acclaimed Netflix original series gained even more widespread popularity, thanks to the last year’s global lockdown. Having an ensemble list of Spanish cast and crew on board, Money Heist 5 continues from where Part 4 finishes off and devolves into a ton of exciting happenings inside the Bank of Spain, where the war between the Team Professor and the Government is taking place.

Professor lets down his guard for a minute for a moment of celebration and is taken out at gunpoint by inspector Alicia Sierra. Lisbon enters the Bank of Spain and joins the rest of the team. With the professor unable to guide the team, they are left on their own to guard themselves and execute the plans further.

Throughout the entire five-episode of Money Heist, we see very little to no action from our beloved professor, and the teammates try and handle the grave situation by themselves. I don’t want to give away the plot and spoil it for others as it is too early to discuss the events taking place inside the Bank of Spain.

However, a lot of emotional outbursts, pain and agony gush through the teammates. The pressure of handling the situation takes a toll on the mental health of certain members. And they battle their innermost demons with the military on their front door.

Within the five-episode of Money Heist, we get to see a few incidents of the past. We are given a brief introduction of Tokyo’s past life before being recruited by the professor for the first heist. Also, there was a section with Berlin, which I believe will impact Part six.

Keeping in mind that the ten-episode finale of Money Heist is broken into two parts of five episodes, our unanswered questions and the plot loopholes will be answered in the next five episodes, which will stream in December.

As for these five episodes are concerned, they did manage to offer a ton of nerve-racking action scenes. Money Heist sticks true to its genre, and the creators kept me absorbed through and through, with my blood pressure steadily rising due to all the incidents inside the bank. Even though they slow down at points, the overall outcome is adrenaline-charging.

Clocking just under 5 hours, this five-episode part of the Money Heist sets a solid base for the grand finale. I am excited to see professor back in action after missing him on for these five episodes as he is even more furious and wrathful and is all set to seek vengeance. With commendable performances and impressive storytelling, Part 5 lives up to all the expectations and the mammoth hype and sets a preamble for the ENDGAME! Watch ‘Money Heist 5’ on Netflix here.
