Dhill directed by Dharani, made Vikram enter into the commercial format for the very first time. The role of a common man, Kanagavel, aspiring to become a police officer was a perfect fit for the demeanor of Vikram and this character made him explore more into comedy, action, dance, and emotions.

Anniyan directed by Shankar was notoriously famous due to the concept of split personality, where Vikram got a golden opportunity to score with three characters Ambi, Anniyan, and Remo in a single movie. The calm and disciplined Ambi, a romantic guy Remo, and a fiercely angry man Anniyan as these characters reside in a single man and get expressed with quick transitions demanded an actor like Vikram and he did proper justice to it. The social concern of the movie coupled with the interesting play of the characters made Anniyan one of the Best Movies of Vikram.

Aarusaamy played by Vikram as D.C.P, in Saamy is one of the most remarkable, powerfully written police characters in Kollywood cinema. Directed by Hari, the role Aarusaamy, a little criminal mind in a khaki uniform (as the character says ‘Naa police ila porrukki’) was a literal cakewalk for the actor. Furthermore, the character was written with a proper vision and certain unique policies, Vikram made Aarusaamy an evergreen character which is fresh and easily visitable every time.

How Vikram handled commercial and character-oriented movies through and through in the initial stages of his career transpired him fitting in any genre flawlessly. After the commercial success of Saamy, Director Bala’s Pithamagan opened new avenues for Vikram and also presented him with a National award in the Best Actor category.
The character Chithan played by Vikram is about a guy who grows up in a graveyard alongside burning corpses, and how he mingles with his latest family member Sakthi, played remarkably by Surya. Chithan, a character with rude body language and without proper disclosure, his emotions and feelings got conveyed through a terrific performer in Vikram. Having spent his entire life with corpses, the way Chithan gets along with his family, and his performance in the climax made our hearts melt as it is one of the best performances by Vikram which cannot be recreated ever again. One of the Best Movies of Vikram.

Best Movies of Vikram: The role played by Vikram in Sethu, earned extensive recognition for him as an actor, and also for director Bala as Sethu was his debut film, which won a National award in Best Tamil film category. This powerful character who progresses from a cool teenager – ‘Chiyaan’ (which then became his tag) in the first half, and as a mental illness patient who is quartered in an asylum in the second half made Vikram prove his emoting and performing capabilities. The drastic weight loss and turning bald for the role shows the dedication Vikram has towards Sethu and his character, which cannot be digested easily as you will be moved after watching this film.
