9. The Jungle Book (1967)

Directors – Wolfgang Reitherman
Cast – Bruce Reitherman, Phil Harris

The 1967 Disney film explores the story of Mowgli and the threat he faces in the form of a man-eating tiger. A classic for a reason, The Jungle Book elevates its narrative with memorable characters, euphonious dance numbers and a ferocious antagonist in Shere Khan. Remade in multiple different iterations, this movie stood the test of time and one of the most exceptional movies Disney had ever produced. Also, one of the Best Disney Movies on Disney Plus.

8. Zootopia

Directors – Byron Howard & Rich Moore
Cast – Jason Bateman, Shakira

Best Disney Movies on Disney Plus: Directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, Zootopia is a powerful multi-genre animated film that portrays a great message every time you see it. The visuals are stellar, the animations are outstanding, and the characters are very likable with notable depth. It’s amazing how well you can make a super good film by using animals and their characteristics. With a captivating storyline, compelling narrative and wonderful execution, Zootopia is just not for kids, it is great for adults too and not only leaves you with a big smile on your face but also with a message to apply in life- “Anyone can be anything.”

7. Wreck-It Ralph

Director – Rich Moore
Cast – John C Reilly, Sarah Silverman

Wreck-It Ralph is a delightful nostalgic movie that will take you a trip down memory lane back to your good old childhood days when we used to play classic video games. The vintage game characters like Q-Bert, Pac-Man and Sonic are bought back to life in this movie. Although the storyline is simple and light-hearted on the surface, the dialogues are witty and well written. And the voice-overs by John C Reilly, Sarah Silverman, and others fit perfectly. There are a few scenes that are a tad violent for kids, but there are also a few others that would surely make your heart melt inside and out. A pleasantly entertaining and one of the Best Disney Movies on Disney Plus.

6. 101 Dalmatians

Directors – Clyde Geronimi
Hamilton Luske
Wolfgang Reitherman

101 Dalmatians is a perfect movie for all the dog-lovers out there as you’ll get to see 101 cute and adorable dalmatian puppies. And I’m sure that this 1961 classic movie will always stand the test of time. On a more nostalgic note, this movie also introduced us to multiple Disney films in the past. The simple storyline and the attention to detail can be seen in every scene, like how the villain is shown donning a jacket made of Dalmatian prints. And ni conclusion, 101 Dalmatians is a beautiful story about family, relationships, adventure, and comedy.

5. Tangled

Directors – Byron Howard & Nathan Greno
Cast – Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi

Best Disney Movies on Disney Plus: One of the super hit films by Disney, Tangled is a fantasy film based on the story Rapunzel by the Brothers Grimm. It is an adorable story about a long-lost princess who desires to leave her house and explore the world. With a simple, laid-back storyline accompanied by some catchy music, Tangled is an easy watch even for adults.

4. Frozen

Directors – Jennifer Lee & Chris Buck
Cast – Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel

Frozen is a story of two inseparable sisters, magical powers, villain and a perfect amount of drama. A singing snowman, Olaf, makes an appearance and makes the movie even more extraordinary. The song “Let it go” from this movie has topped charts and is captivating. The voice cast includes Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and many others who have done a terrific job. The storyline is not that great. But the animations and effects make it likable. The Disney musical extravaganza teaches the lessons of loyalty and love for family. Overall, it’s a wonderful story that highlights the significance of a sister-sister relationship.

3. Moana

Directors – Ron Clements & John Musker
Cast – Auli’i Cravalho, Dwayne Johnson

Moana is easily the closest to my heart because unlike any other Disney princesses who are all dressed up and classy, Moana is about a simplistic little girl who is on a quest to achieve something in her life. It also involves a demi-god and supernatural forces which makes the movie compelling to watch. It is all about the good-bad, love-hate and selfless emotions which make Moana easily one of the Best Disney Movies on Disney Plus.

2. Lilo And Stitch

Directors – Chris Sanders & Dean DeBlois

My second favorite Disney movie of all time (after Moana), Lilo And Stitch is about a crazy alien experiment subject who escapes and meets a young girl in Hawaii. And the rest of the story is about how they get along and become close friends. On the technical side of things, the animation is quite simple as it isn’t a fairy tale. The narrative promises some good laughs in between, and the character Stitch has always been a personal favorite of mine. It is also a female-centric movie with a minimal romantic angle involved. You’ll often get to hear “Ohana means family” throughout the entire film and it will most definitely touch your heart.

1. Big Hero 6

Directors – Don Hall & Chris Williams
Cast – Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit

Yet another animated masterpiece by Disney, Big Hero 6 has deep characterization, stunning visuals, and a unique storyline. It is an action-packed comedy with added dramatic elements that will evoke a wide range of emotions within you and the absence of the typical drama and romance makes Big Hero a special movie to watch.
