Why is Ranveer Singh the Most Influential Superstar of Bollywood? – Editorial

What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you see Ranveer Singh? Who is this guy-next-door looking wannabe? He is a typical Bandra boy from a rich family, educated abroad, with Bollywood connections here and there. There is nothing about him that would make us think that he could be a future superstar. But, who knew destiny had some other plans for this Mumbaikar munchkin.

Ranveer Singh Bhavnani’s mother is the sister of Sunita Kapoor, who is the mother of Sonam Kapoor. So, Ranveer did have dreams and aspirations to join Bollywood. While studying abroad, he took up theatre as a minor subject. After returning to India, he took up copywriting as a full-time job. Subsequently, he struggled to be an actor. After struggling for a few years, he finally got selected for a movie under the Yash Raj banner called Band Baaja Baaraat. This was the start of his career as a professional actor. There are speculations that his dad invested Rs. 10 crores for his first film. Who knows the truth though!

During his school days, he was a rank holder and also the head boy. There was something special about him since the beginning. However, after having a successful start, he rose up to be the actor having the most chutzpah. His style and ways are not common and known to all. His immense enthusiasm and the way he speaks his mind adds to his magnetic personality. What people like most about him is how he keeps his heart out on the table.

Who would keep his position and stature at stake and dress up like this?

He has the best designers around him and sits with the most well-dressed people. We all know that his wife is an epitome of elegance, but, he chose to be himself. Rather than pretending to be poised all the time he wears his heart on his sleeve and showcases his sentiment with utmost fervour. These things only show his respect and trust in others. He does not feel ashamed of making fun of himself which is very good quality.

There is another example of his humility and respect for women. There was a press meet after an award show, where Ranveer won the Best Actor, and Deepika won the Best Actress. He was already a Superstar by then. He was seated next to Deepika Padukone for the post-award show press conference, and they started their interview. Probably he saw something not right with Deepika’s makeup and started rectifying it then and there. He did it in front of everyone, while the interview was going on. He did not have to do that. He could have just ignored it and left as it is. Although he is a superstar, he still is sweet and simple at heart.

He is a quintessential example of humility. There has not been one interview or award show where he has shown starry attitude or spoken negatively about anyone. Post his link up with Deepika he has not been a part of any rumour or affair. He has always shown immense love and respect for her.

Also, he has never left a chance to showcase his humour and whim. This was best seen in his interview with Karan Johar on Koffee with Karan. He best fits into the saying that “Funny people are the most intelligent people.” He is still very comfortable and friendly with his wife’s ex-boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor, although Ranbir does not look very comfortable with him.

Once he got a chance to be on stage with Baba Ramdev. Although his dexterity was no match to Baba Ramdev’s, he still stood tall and faced him with elegance and comfort. He could have just sat there and shown all his sophistication, but, he rather chose to be a sport and took part in a wrestling and dancing competition with him.

He is a person who is unapologetic and accepts it hands down. These are the qualities which make him a real person. He could be a star or maybe he could not be one, but he is a good human being for sure and that remains with him forever.
