10. Ami Thumi

Ami Thumi, a slapstick comedy is about the hilarious journey of two young couple’s (Eesha Rebba and Adivi Sesh, Srinivas Avasarala and Aditi Myakal) trying to save their relationships from family drama. Similar to Indraganti’s first major success, Ashta Chamma, this film also moves on a quick pace coupled with a myriad of entertaining scenes and enjoyable performances from the whole cast. A funny two-hour-twenty-minute film which delivers on its promises.


9. Appatlo Okadundevadu

Inspired by true events of the 1990s, Sagar Chandra’s sports-based crime drama tells the story of an aspiring cricketer turned factionist (Sree Vishnu) who seeks revenge against a corrupt cop played by Nara Rohit. Consistent with its fresh, unorthodox storyline, commendable performances from the two male leads and a sumptuous climax, Appatlo Okadundevadu ended up as a flop during its theatrical run, not telecasted on TV to the commercial audience and disappeared into the void unnoticed.

8. Mental Madhilo

Vivek Athreya, who is now getting all the attention he deserves for his recent super-hit film, Brochevarevaru Ra, made his debut with Mental Madhilo, a romantic drama starring Sree Vishnu and Nivetha Pethuraj. A feel-good love story between an endearing couple complemented with a subtle storytelling technique and euphonious music. Suitable for an easy weekend watch.


7. Sammohanam

Mohan Krishna Indraganti’s Sammohanam is a simple yet beautifully told love story elevated with great character moments, well-written dialogue, wonderful performances and sweet-sounding music composed by Vivek Sagar. A clean, simple, family-friendly movie which is convenient for a cozy weekend watch.


6. Ee Nagariniki Emaindi

Tharun Bhascker’s second film explores the fun, silliness and drama of a buddy-comedy genre in the most delightful way possible. Bringing in more of that independent movie vibe, C/O Kancharapalem starring primarily an unknown cast narrates four different love stories of different age groups in the most endearing way possible. Set in a small suburb in Visakhapatnam called Kancharapalem, the relatability factor of the storyline elevated this movie’s quality and made it a compelling watch. Do not miss it!


3. Chi La Sow

Rahul Ravindran’s Chi La Sow is a breezy romantic drama which primarily revolves around the two lead characters. 2. Malli Raava

Gowtham Tinnanuri’s directorial debut before 2019s cricket-based drama, Jersey was Malli Raava starring Sumanth and Aakansha Singh in the lead roles. Served with a remarkably-written screenplay exploring the couple’s relationship at three different stages of life, this movie remains as one of the overlooked movies of the past few years. The soulful music adds to the drama, and the orthodox storyline told diversely makes Malli Raava a must-watch.

Kshanam functioned as a resurgence for Adivi Sesh‘s career and is one of the best movies Tollywood had produced in the past few years. The storyline investigates the kidnapping of a child and creeps into the details filled with quite a few twists and turns which you will not see coming. The riveting screenplay and the exciting background score by Sri Charan Pakala add to the film’s overall presentation as this film is without a doubt a gripping thriller which took chances rather than playing it safe.
