Prey on Hulu, is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) and stars Amber Midthunder in the lead role with Dakota Beavers, Michelle Thrush, Stormee Kippx, Julian Black Antelope and Dane DiLiegro in the supporting roles. Set in the early 1700s, it tells the story of a young Comanche warrior who must hunt the thing that is hunting her to protect her tribe.

Prey on Hulu is the latest entry in the Predator series, and when it comes to predator films, my extractions are low cause there hasn’t been a great film from this franchise since the first. With that being said, I heard a lot of good press going into this film, so I checked it out, and boy…! was it good. This movie is entertaining, smart, and is written excellently with a simple and to the point screenplay with some great moments. While I do think there are a few minor issues in the script, Patrick Aison does a good job with the screenplay.
Prey on Hulu not only has some great moments from start to end, but it also has some stunning visuals and direction. Dan Trachtenberg does it again after his stellar work with 10 Cloverfield Lane. I cannot talk enough about the visuals and realism as there are some impressive scenes throughout, especially a scene with a bear. I also really liked the predator design, and looked downright cool.
My favorite part of Prey on Hulu are the relationships and rich character development. The relationship between sister Narre (Amber Midthunder) and brother Taabe (Dakota Beavers) was terrific. I also loved the relationship between Narre and her dog Sarii. Both those relationships and all the major characters development throughout the film is excellent.
Now as far as the performances go, Amber Midthunder is a budding star. She is absolutely terrific and stunning, and I’m very much looking forward to her future work. I also really liked Dakota Beavers, who is a revelation, he’s fantastic alongside Michelle Thrush. Prey on Hulu is a good film. Support this film, so the next one actually gets a theatrical release. This film deserves a wide audience, and it earned its spot as the #2 Predator film for me.
