Indoo Ki Jawani Review: Nothing Redeeming!
Indoo Ki Jawani on Netflix India starring Kiara Advani and Aditya Seal in the lead roles is a coming-of-age comedy and is one of the very first Bollywood movies to release directly in theaters after the lockdown era. The story revolves around the title character, Indira, who, after her boyfriend cheats on her stats getting into the dating world through dating apps. However, things begin to take an unexpected turn when she finds out that one of her dates is from Pakistan.

Directed by Abir Sengupta, Indoo Ki Jawani, despite the fresh concept and a decent initial thirty minutes, gets monotonous very soon, primarily because a decent half of the movie is set in one location. The screenplay is a disaster, and the comedy doesn’t land the punches properly due to inferior dialogue through and through.
Moving on to the characters and the performances in Indoo Ki Jawani, Kiara Advani does a decent as far as her portrayal of Indira goes. But on the other side, her character comes off as very feeble-minded in multiple scenes throughout the film. Her counterpart, Aditya Seal, impresses with his charisma, performance and quite frankly outshines Advani in several scenes. Also, Mallika Dua, who plays the character of Sonal, Indira’s best friend, did her best when it comes to providing entertainment.
On the technical side of things, with a decent budget, Indoo Ki Jawani looks very appealing to the eye in regards to the cinematography by A. Vasanth and Priya Suhas’ production design. The music fits well with the narrative but does not have a catchy tune for multiple listens.
Overall, Indoo Ki Jawani on Netflix India could’ve been a casual evening watch if the writing and the direction were on-point from start to finish. Nevertheless, if you’re still interested to watch it, the actors might keep you away from not throwing your TV out-of-the-window. Watch ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’ on Netflix India here.
