11. Without Remorse

Starring – Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell
Streaming – Prime Video

Directed by Stefano Sollima, Without Remorse is based on the 1993 novel of the same name by Tom Clancy. The story revolves around John Kelly, a Navy Seal, who goes on a warpath after a failed assassination on his life, which leaves his pregnant wife dead as well as members of his team. As he hunts those responsible, he discovers a larger government conspiracy at play that may hold clues to who ordered the assassinations and why?

10. Tenet

Starring – Washington and Debicki
Streaming – Prime Video

Preview Only: When a few objects that can be manipulated and used as weapons in the future fall into the wrong hands, a CIA operative, known as the Protagonist, must save the world. A mind-bending thriller from the genius master chief, Christopher Nolan, Tenet stars John David Washington and Elizabeth Debicki in the lead roles.

9. The Meg

Starring – Jason Statham, Li Bingbing
Streaming – Prime Video

When researchers explore what may be a deeper section of the Mariana trench, concealed by a thermocline cloud of hydrogen sulfide, a creature formally thought to be extinct, the Megalodon, emerges from the bottom of the ocean to terrorize the world. The Meg was an okayish movie.

Good enough to watch once because, let’s face it, no one is cooler than Jason Statham. Other than that, it was fine, the shark was huge, and there was a lot of blood, gore, and carnage, but at the end of the day, it’s one of those movies you watch only once as it was neither very amazing nor very bad. – Zoha Junaid (@zohasreviews)

8. Final Destination 5

Starring – Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell
Streaming – Prime Video

A predomination helps an individual save his colleagues and love interest from a car crash during a retreat, but death has different evil plans. Well, this movie was decent, especially for a fifth one in the franchise! The new elements and complications added to the story did make things intriguing. One of them is that the characters begin to understand that by killing one of the survivors, they can save themselves, and it turns uglier than any of the other movies in the series. Final Destination 5 is a one-time watch. – Zoha Junaid (@zohasreviews)

7. Kong: Skull Island

Starring – Tom Hiddleston & Brie Larson
Streaming – Prime Video

Preview Only: Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ 2017 version of King Kong explores a crew that reaches Skull Island to map it and is attacked by a humongous ape. Later, the survivors then regroup to find out more about the ape, the island’s natives, and underground monsters.

6. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Starring – Keira Knightly, Chris Pine
Streaming – Prime Video

Jack Ryan, a second lieutenant in the US Marine Corps, travels to Russia to check on a businessman named Cherevin. But, he ends up uncovering a deadly terrorist attack plot. A decent action movie to watch on a Friday, Shadow Recruit is an entertaining but very paint-by-the-numbers thriller without a lot of originality. I’d call it a solid rental.

5. IT (2017)

Starring – Jaeden Lieberher, Bill Skarsgard
Streaming – Prime Video

[This movie is also feat. in our ‘Best Horror Movies on Amazon’ list]

Revolving around the town of Derry, where a bunch of kids keeps getting kidnapped by the killer clown Pennywise as the Losers Club unite not only to hunt him down but also to end the reign of his dreadful enigma. Unlike any other stereotypical horror film where we get a bunch of jump-scares, this movie defines how a horror/thriller should be made by setting up the characters and the storyline. Also, at the same time, IT provides a good amount of scares to a point where you feel uncomfortable with everything happening on-screen. – Surya Komal

4. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

Starring – Ben Affleck & Henry Cavill
Streaming – Prime Video

“Do You Bleed!?” Probably one of the most controversial and divided DC films of all time, BvS: Dawn of Justice, directed by Zack Snyder, delivers on multiple levels when it comes to action and the gigantic scale, but the screenplay is a mess. The three-plus hour director’s cut made a few minor amends, but the final result is still very much average. I’d still recommend you to watch it though. – Surya Komal

3. Man of Steel

Starring – Henry Cavill, Amy Adams
Streaming – Prime Video

[Ranked at #4 position in our ‘All DCEU Movies Ranked’ list]

An origin story of Clark Kent, Man of Steel, delivers on the promise of a Superman movie with more emotional depth and the super smackdown we’ve been waiting to see in the modern era. Zack Snyder delivered a Superman film that’s more relatable and realistic for our time. Although the movie would have benefited from a little more humor, this is made up for by the cast and their performances. – Surya Komal

2. Olympus Has Fallen

Starring – Gerard Buttler, Aaron Eckhart
Streaming – Prime Video

In Olympus Has Fallen, Gerard Butler plays former Army Ranger Mike Banning, who is now a Secret Service Agent leading President Asher’s (Aaron Eckhart) detail. When leaving Camp David on a snowy night, an accident happens and Banning is only able to save the President and the First Lady (Ashley Judd) is lost in the process.

Olympus Has Fallen is not a particularly smart movie and covers a lot of familiar territories, but as far as a tense action film goes, it is not all that bad. It was entertaining, decent, and if you’re an action fanatic and want something to tide you over, this is a decent matinee.

1. Bumblebee

Starring – Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena
Streaming – Prime Video

Preview Only: A spin-off movie from the Transformers franchise, Travis Knight’s Bumblebee opens during the Cybertron Civil War when Optimus Prime sends Autobot scout B-127 to Earth to form a base where they can regroup. Later, the scout befriends a girl named Charlie, who names him Bumblebee.
