ZEE5’s N.E.R.D Web Series Review – A Thrill Ride, from Start to End!

ZEE5, that’s riding high ever since their recent releases in Telugu Original content with Amala Akkineni’s High Priestess and Kailasapuram – a social message driven thriller, once again delivered with their new seven-episode erotic-thriller Telugu series called N.E.R.D. Written and directed by Deva Ganesh, N.E.R.D (elaborated as Neither Either Really Dead) is presented as a realistic, exciting, whodunit thriller starring an ensemble of promising new actors from the Telugu Industry. Watch all the episodes of N.E.R.D now.

Starring Hasvanth Vanga in the lead role, the storyline of N.E.R.D revolves around an isolated techie who likes to keep to himself and follows his daily routine like a programmed machine. Revered for his kind heart and delightful attitude, Hasvanth, while following his boring pattern from going to his yoga class in the morning to eating chapati for dinner every single day comes across six beautiful women who change his life for good. The remaining part of this web series displays how Hasvanth develops his bond with the ladies and how quickly they changed his boring monotonous life.

Erotic thrillers, which have been really popular in the past, is a genre that people expect from streaming platforms like ZEE5 which have the ability to showcase stories raw and uncensored. Consequently, N.E.R.D delivers on all those aspects. It is an engrossing series which showcases multiple aspects from heartening emotion, appealing love-drama to enthralling suspense, decent and crucial performances from the lead cast, well-written dialogues and a rip-roaring storyline which deals with an intriguing subject.

But among them, the biggest highlight of N.E.R.D has to be the suspense-filled plot which was briefly mentioned before. Ever since the beginning of the narrative, writer and director Deva Ganesh was able to create the subtle tension between the scenes by hinting at certain things and at the same time not revealing or ruining the entire scene. He effortlessly pulled off the tricks and tactics needed for a thrilling plot as there are really well presented on-screen. The ability to make a thriller series together with varied themes like love, drama, friendship is a tough feat to achieve, and Deva Ganesh does it with ease. Additionally, complementing the intriguing narrative is the tuneful background score by Naren RK Siddhartha which blended in flawlessly.

The performances from the complete cast were also impactful and very much enjoyable to watch. Hasvanth Vanga with his friendly, likeable screen presence allowed him to shine throughout the entire series. All the other characters, especially the six female actresses were a delight to watch as everyone had their moments to shine, blossom and entertain with Namrata Darekar being particularly impressive.

Overall, N.E.R.D delivered on all its promises, it is thrilling, suspenseful and is most certainly yet another intriguing series to binge watch from ZEE5. Also, the extra bit of erotic element makes this seven-episode series a must watch for everyone who loves the “Thriller” genre.
