Directed by Stefano Sollima, Without Remorse on Amazon Prime Video is a 2021 Hollywood action-thriller and is loosely based on the 1993 novel of the same name by Tom Clancy. Starring Michael B. Jordan in the lead role, the film also stars Jodie Turner-Smith, Jamie Bell, and Guy Pearce as the supporting cast.

The storyline of Without Remorse revolves around John Kelly (Michael B. Jordan), a Navy Seal, who goes on a warpath after a failed assassination on his life, which leaves his pregnant wife dead as well as members of his team. As he hunts those responsible, he discovers a larger government conspiracy at play that may hold clues to who ordered the assassinations and why?
Well, I finally got to see Without Remorse on Amazon Prime Video, and despite receiving some bad reviews, I enjoyed it through and through. I thought Michael B. Jordan (The Wire, Creed 1 and 2) did a great job of bringing novelist Tom Clancy’s hero John Kelly to the screen (previously played by Willem Dafoe in ‘Clear’ and ‘Present Danger’ in the 1994 movie adaptation).
Michael B. Jordan injects the character with a heroic but deadly determination to root out the people that crossed the line when all he was trying to do was serve his country. I hope we get more movies with Jordan playing this character as we did with Clancy’s Jack Ryan character.
There are some great action set pieces, and even though the story is nothing new and somewhat predictable, the fast-paced plot assures us that we never get too bored before the next action scene kicks in. And Jordan has a great supporting cast in Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith, and the ever-dependable Guy Pearce.
Remember to keep watching a couple of minutes after the end credits roll to see where this could be heading if we get a franchise out of this. I sure hope we do as there is plenty of mileage in Jordan’s John Clark yet.
Without Remorse was a good action-packed watch, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as I love these types of conspiracy action movies anyway. A real solid action thriller well directed by Stefano Sollima. Watch ‘Without Remorse’ on Amazon Prime Video here.
