Top 5 Movies Releasing in April 2019

Dubbed as the unofficial beginning of the Summer season, April is the month when big studio movies start to make an appearance. And with Endgame closing out the month with possibly the highest opening weekend ever with over 280 million, there are also few decent films that you should actually watch. Clearing out Hellboy 2019, The Curse of La Llorona, Pet Sematary, Romeo Akbar Walter (Hindi), Jersey (Telugu) off the beaten track, here are the most anticipated movies in the month of April.


5. Muni 4: Kanchana 3

Release Date – 19 April, 2019
Cast – Raghava Lawrence, Oviya, Vedhika, Kovai Sarala
Director – Raghava Lawrence

Muni is one of the most successful film series in Kollywood, Raghava Lawrence, the writer, director for entire series once said that he has the story to make up to Muni 9. Made on a budget of 40 crore rupees, the film has already made a profit through satellite rights and music rights which was bought by SUN TV and Sony Music respectively.


4. Majili

Release Date – April 5, 2019
Cast – Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni
Director – Shiva Nirvana

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni, popularly known as ChaySam are one of the most successful on-screen couples of Tollywood. Majili happens to be their fourth collaboration and the first one together after their wedding. Hence, there is a lot of curiosity and its promos have generated huge expectations about their chemistry.


3. Kalank

Release Date – April 17, 2019
Cast – Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt
Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt
Director – Abhishek Varman

Set in the 1940s, Kalank is a period drama film directed by Abhishek Varman. This film was earlier visualized by late filmmaker Yash Johar around a one-and-a-half decade ago, but, didn’t materialize. The films’ teaser created a lot of expectations as the production design looks grandeur and magnificent.


2. Shazam

Release Date – April 5, 2019
Cast – Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer
Director: David F. Sandberg

With an average rating of 7.68/10, Shazam holds an approval rating of 93% based on 58 reviews, on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, setting the expectation levels high. Directed by David F. Sandberg from a screenplay by Henry Gayden, and a story by Gayden and Darren Lemke, it is the seventh film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film stars Asher Angel as Billy Batson, a teenage boy who can transform into an adult superhero, played by Zachary Levi.

Release Date – April 26, 2019
Cast – Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans
Director: The Russo Brothers

Clearly, no one has moved on from the devastating experience of the Infinity War and this one is definitely going to be the next part of the sensational epic. MCU has finally given a climax and a conclusion to ten years of its well-knit fiction and to miss it would surely be your biggest loss. A lot of fan theories, speculations, burning questions and curious loopholes are in need of proper explanation and Endgame is the only answer to all of them. From the rumored death of Tony Stark/ Steve Rogers to the resurrection of all those who have been decimated, it is the only hope to make peace with The Avengers for all Marvel fans across the world. Dread it, run from it, destiny still arrives right?
