To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You Review: Sweet and Beautiful!

To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You starring Lana Condor, Noah Centineo and Jordan Fisher is a high school teen romance-comedy and is the sequel to 2018 release To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. It is directed by Michael Fimognari, and it is based on Jenny Han’s 2015 novel P.S. I Still Love You. With the first part being a popular choice in Netflix’s Netflix and Chill and romance movies section and with another sequel lined up in the franchise, let’s see how this one has fared from an entertainment standpoint.

Lara Jean is now happily in a relationship with High School’s most popular guy and girls heart-throb, Peter Kavinsky. But she wishes her boyfriend to be someone more subtle, anonymous, and she can’t stop thinking about his past with Gen and whenever they are together. Yet she makes peace with her thoughts and continues her relationship with him.

The problem comes in the form of John Ambrose, one of the five recipients to the love letters which Lara Jean wrote. They both volunteer at an old age home as part of a school program. Lara, confused between a popular boyfriend and the guy who matches her desires. Who does she choose to be with at the end narrates the remainder of the film.

There are many series and movies about high school teens and their relationships available on Netflix. Most of them portray the students as nothing but constantly looking for sexual adventures. What makes To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You distinct compared to the others is that it gives more attention to the emotions of the characters which I admire the most. The characters are etched in a way that they are easy to connect.

The choice of songs that played in the background throughout the movie set the right mood for the audience. And the chemistry between Lana Condor and Noah Centineo makes us fall in love with their characters. The writing and performances of the leads are thoroughly good and they will make you feel, cry, smile and laugh with them.

To sum it up, like it’s predecessor, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You is sure to put a smile on your face, and a simple, beautiful and elegant movie to cuddle and watch with your loved ones on any given weekend. Watch the movie on Netflix here.
