Spirited an Apple TV+ Original, is directed and co-written by Sean Anders, co-written by John Morris, starring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, Octavia Spencer, and Patrick Page. A twist on the classic Charles Dickens story we see behind the scenes with the massive operation where the ghosts and hundreds of helpers spend all year preparing the haunt for a miser in need of change.

Bit of a mixed bag Spirited is. I was on board with the concept for most of the movie and the “twist” it takes. I think there is a reason this is a classic story that can be continuously updated and that’s because no one has learned the lesson of the story hundreds of years later. And for me this idea that it happens every year and there is an operation I enjoyed that. What I didn’t enjoy was that I didn’t feel the chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Wil Ferrell the whole movie, sometimes it was good other times it felt awkward.
Eventually the story lost me and I was just looking forward to the song and dance numbers. Shout out to Dominic Lewis, nothing particularly noteworthy but still fun. Good ending though. All in all, Spirited is fun, little predictable, and disjointed. Watch ‘Spirited’ on Apple TV+ here.
Falling for Christmas on Netflix is directed by Janeen Damian, co-written by Jeff Bonnett and Ron Oliver, staring Lindsay Lohan, Chord Overstreet, Geroge Young, Jack Wagner. When Sierra Belmont, the heiress to the Belmont hotel chain, falls off a mountain and loses her memory she gets taken in by Jake the small town inn owner with a heart of gold.
This Netflix movie has everything from a Hallmark Christmas movie, rich person who will experience change, failing business owner, not one but two dead mothers, annoying child, a real magical Santa, taking advantage of someone who has lost their memory, town coming together moment, all that stupid crap. Sadly this movie isn’t so bad that it circles back around to being good. However, if you like Lindsay Lohan and you want to laugh at the movie, not with it, then this is a quick 90 minutes. All in all Falling for Christmas made me wish I fell off a mountain and forgot I watched it.
