Spider-Man: No Way Home Review – A Wholly Satisfying Movie!

Amongst the superheroes who exist, Spider-Man enjoys a much-beloved and very popular following. Owing to the fact that he was one of the OG comic book superstars and was a massive part of most of our childhood. Tom Holland is the third one to portray the character of Spidey besides Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who enjoyed a mini-franchise of their own.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home is the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and sequel to 2019 hit Spider-Man: Far From Home. Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, and Marisa Tomei reprise their roles from the earlier films alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s not very surprising cameo as Dr. Strange.

No Way Home dives into the concept of the multiverse and relates MCU with the previous Spider-Man films. When Peter Parker seeks helps from Dr. Strange to make people forget that he is the Spiderman after Mysterio reveals his civilian identity, they accidentally tamper with the stability of the universe and open the multiverse. The rest of the plot deals with how Peter fights the villains who keep re-appearing from every universe.

Bringing together the antagonists from past Spider-Man films was like a trip down memory lane. From Norman Osborne, aka Green Goblin, to Dr. Otto Octavius and Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, they roped in the same actors who portrayed these roles, and it was nothing short of nostalgia.

Tobey Maguire in Sam Raimi’s version of Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield enacted the character in their style and brought in a unique flavor to their respective franchise. Tom Holland, the youngest Spider-Man amongst the three brought in a child-like innocence to the role. His impeccability and righteousness often land him in trouble, yet he stays true to his morals.

After beginning a happy-go-lucky guy in the previous picturization as the Spiderman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, swinging in a nano suit and benefiting from the Stark Industries technology, he eventually suffers from personal life problems as Stan Lee originally created him to be. Technically, Marvel films get better with each film. One has to behold the stunning grandeur of No Way Home as it is a spectacular watch on a large screen.

Overall, Spider-Man: No Way Home is an experience of its own. For a Marvel Fanboy, who loves Spider-Man from Tobey’s version, this is the best possible fairy tale. From the most anticipated union to the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving towards multiverse madness, No Way Home is the beginning of a lot. Until then, this is a wholly satisfying movie.
