Jude Anthany Joseph’s Sara’S is a light-hearted movie that revolves around the life and dream of Sara. Produced by PK Muralidharan and Santha Murali, Anna Ben plays the titular role alongside an outstanding cast featuring Sunny Wayne, Siddique, and Mallika Sukumaran. With 118 minutes of inspiring drama, the film takes us through the various phases in the life of Sara, who dreams of being a filmmaker.

Sara (Anna Ben) is an aspiring young film professional tailoring the role of a director to her profile. Right from her childhood, she is indifferent when it comes to the societal views of parenthood, and she is demotivated of raising a child. Eventually, Sara aces an opportunity to achieve her dream, but things do not work the way she wanted. The rest of the film takes us through the societal concepts of relationships, marriage, and pregnancy. And will Sara be able to fly high despite all the pressure?
The thread of Sara’S was devised from the quest by Jude Anthany Joseph through a Facebook post, and this film is one amongst the seven stories that inspired Jude from writer Akshay Hareesh. The script carried simple elements that are well written, and the first half of the movie was pleasing to watch. However, during the second half, the film followed a few clichés at times and ended up being just average.
Music by Shaan Rahman is one of the biggest positives of Sara’S and is accompanied by beautiful vocals from Vineeth Srinivasan. The camera work by Nimish Ravi was vibrant with the stunning colors of Kochi City and the highlands of ‘Vagamon.’ Editing work by Riyas K Badhar was decent and a special mention to the production design by Mohandas, for the eye-catching elements behind each indoor shot.
Anna Ben, who is yet to act in a bad movie, was once again mesmerizing on-screen portraying the differing shades of Sara and her performance well anchored by Sunny Wayne. Another notable act came from Dhanya Varma, and Mallika Sukumaran played the complicated mother-in-law very well. Furthermore, with a significant amount of screentime, Benny P Nayarambalam was able to display his acting ability apart from his writing.
