Top Overrated Actors in Bollywood

When you discuss the topic of Most Overrated Actors in Bollywood, the first ones that come to our mind are the Kapoors and the Khans. But, if we dig deep and analyze certain components, the list gets a bit slimmer. But, we should consider a handful of factors when you label a certain actor as overrated. For the past year on the website, we discussed the Most Overrated Actresses in Bollywood and also the Most Underrated Actors. So, here is a list of the Most Overrated Actors in Bollywood, which I’m sure will stir a ton of controversy.

Tiger Shroff

First on the list of the Most Overrated Actors in Bollywood – Being an ace body-builder and dancer, Tiger Shroff has managed to make his mark in Bollywood with his martial art skills and dance moves. However, an actor’s talent is more important than his physical appearance. A well built muscular body does not guarantee good performance, but being sensitive and expressive does. One needs to be able to connect with the audience.

Moving on to the facts, Tiger Shroff’s debut film – Heropanti, opposite Kriti Sanon, fared decently with average box-office collections. His acting and dialogue delivery were expressionless. Still, he somehow managed to get offers from top production houses one after the other. When an industry outsider struggles to get even one launch, Tiger has had several. This makes me wonder does an actor need to know acting at all? It seems like relations and connections matter more than talent.

Everybody in the industry knows Tiger because he is the son of yesteryear star Jackie Shroff. When Tiger was born, ace director Subhash Ghai promised that he would give him a launch. In such a scenario his success was guaranteed. So, he will be offered back to back releases, and the innocent audience are left with no option but to bear him.

However, being a bad actor and a star son does not mean that he is not a good human being. He is an amazing person, hands down. His humility has no bounds, as he addresses everyone as ‘Sir.’ I have never seen such a hardworking and down to earth actor in Bollywood. His mannerisms are reflected through his eyes. All his interviews are proof of his respectful attitude towards people in general. There is not one iota of attitude or vanity that he carries on his shoulders but only gratefulness towards the audience.

Sidharth Malhotra

One wonders, and wonders, and wonders what skill Sidharth Malhotra possesses? Just pure good looks? Is that it? Looks and relations and voila! It is hard to digest that he is a mainstream actor. His acting skills are pathetic, and his dialogue delivery looks like a joke what does he offer? Without a doubt, one of the Most Overrated Actors in Bollywood.

Salman Khan

This must be upsetting to the Bhai’s fans, but he is the Most Overrated Actors in Bollywood. His dancing skills, dialogue delivery, and acting are funnier than anything else. Salman Khan was once rated one of the most good looking people in the world and that does not guarantee a Superstar quality, but then who knows. And let us not forget that he is a star kid. His father was a renowned writer who wrote Sholay, Deewar, etc.

His way up the ladder would have been easier than others. However, more than a star, he is a people person. He wears his heart on his sleeve and helped his colleagues on their way up. Himesh Reshammiya, Zareen Khan, Katrina Kaif, Bhumika Chawla, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sonakshi Sinha, Daisy Shah, and Saiee Manjerekar to name a few. All in all, he is a better “Bhai” than an actor.

Hrithik Roshan

The look of a Greek God, chiseled body, and wondrous dance moves. Hrithik Roshan found a backdoor to get into the industry with his debut film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and found major hits in his career with a handful of films directed by his father. However, he did take heroism to another level with his machoism, dancing skills and is highlighted as a great threat to the Khans and forced them to up their game.

However, apart from his home production, he has had other hits as well. For instance, Dhoom 2 was a hit, but it was a multi starrer and a well-established franchise. Super 30 was one film where he was a misfit. It seemed like a rich guy with bulging muscles and a perfect jawline was pretending to be a poor guy from a small town.

Kartik Aaryan

The new face of Bollywood – Kartik Aaryan garnered a ton of attention lately after having all the girls crushing on him. From Sara Ali Khan to Ananya Panday, female actors are fond of him. But, do you think it is due to his personality or looks? It is his PR team in action. It is not possible to have all top actresses gushing over Kartik Aaryan or rather Kartik Tiwari. His stint with Deepika Padukone, where he danced at the airport, to promote the Dheeme Dheeme step was over-the-top foolish. We know it’s a publicity stunt but, why not do it in a better way?

Having said that, he broke the six-pack hero stereotype. It is nice to have a hero from a small town like Gwalior instead of having a star’s son again. The last thing we all want to see is another product of nepotism pretending to struggle while eyeing for the spotlight and stardom.
