Nobody is a movie that can be taken one of two ways. One, most people will see this as a fun, bloody, creative action movie that has hints of John Wick (same writer), and it’s something you can turn your brain off and watch for ninety minutes, then turn it off and forget about it.
Or, you can get into the details and ask if a movie like this is appropriate anymore. The unhinged person that just needs something to snap. If it were a critique of that person then I can understand it, but this is a celebration of a character that did a lot of killing for the US government and by all accounts seemed to enjoy it.
As I said, that is not something that would resonate with 99.9% of people, but. Other than that, the movie was enjoyable, with great action sequences. I loved the score that was composed by David Buckley. And the whole film really works because Bob Odenkirk going against type, can work sometimes, and this is one of the times that it worked well.
However, where it loses a lot is the plot and the script, a lot of cheesy dialogue, and plot holes that aren’t filled in by the end. It seems like they’re trying to set up a sequel, so maybe we’ll get a little more then? And Christopher Lloyd seems to be doing just fine, so that’s excellent. All in all, Nobody is a good action movie with a great lead, good action sequences, and some questionable motifs.
