Question: Bollywood is Baar Judgementall Hai Kya?
Answer: Yes! Of Course!
After all, Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao weren’t born wealthy, or have famous star parents. They’re not fluent in English, weren’t born as style icons, did not enjoy a lavish life, and did not study abroad with paparazzi running after them to take pictures wherever they went.
They’re just creative people who genuinely love their art. After all, that’s what is necessary to be where they are. Yes, there are also other routes, but, this is hands down the right one. They have earned every damn penny with their hard work. They have done theatre to get an understanding of the art which they worship.
Their parents haven’t requested popular movie studios and asked them to launch their kids. They were never a part of the big Bollywood parties where who’s who of Bollywood is present, where it is a status symbol to attend such events. Their journeys started by knocking at the door of B-Town, just like everyone else.
Kangana Ranaut abandoned her house in Bhambla, Manali, came to Delhi and joined Asmita Theatre Group and struggled to make her mark without any support system around her. After somehow managing to enter into Bollywood and after finding a decent success, she chose the most difficult path and stood up against the Bollywood Mafia. She continues to fight against Nepotism and has spoken openly about its existence. She fought with strength and dignity and only came out stronger and fiercer.
She withstood against the big names of Bollywood and proved that they can’t suppress other actors whenever they want. They are completely at the mercy of the audience. The day the audience reject them, they will be worth nothing. We have made them and we are the ones who can break them. It is because of us that they have big houses, expensive cars and such a lavish lifestyle.
On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao, previously Rajkumar Yadav, also has a similar non-filmy background. He was born in the city of Gurgaon and was fond of acting and was performing in plays ever since he was a child. He performed theatre with Kshitij Repertory and Shri Ram Centre at Delhi University. He was born with a talent which made him reach the heights that he belongs to.

He is a born actor, and he worked towards it, aspired it and eventually reached there by taking baby steps. You don’t get something unless your heart asks for it. Looks like his heart and soul were completely into movies. After passing from FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) and joining the Hindi Film Industry, he has been part of critically acclaimed movies like Gangs of Wasseypur, Shahid, Trapped, LSD and many more.
His phenomenal work speaks for itself. He is not a crowd-pleaser, but an underdog, who shines with his light somewhere in the corner, shying away from everyone else. Both Kangana and Rajkummar have strong backstories and I couldn’t be prouder of them.
However, during the press release of Judgementall Hai Kya, there’s a spat between Kangana Ranaut and an entertainment journalist Justin Rao.
Justin wrote a mean article on Kangana for her work in Manikarnika and when he wanted to question Kangana during the press release of JMHK, she instantly asked him the reason behind his tirade against her. This made another journalist furious and he started shouting at the top of his lungs. After the event, this journalist has gone down to the extent of making an anti-Kangana group which has decided to not cover any of Kangana’s future events.
This makes me think what did she say to the reporter who got hurt and started shouting then and there? She did not abuse the guy. It felt like he was waiting to start a fight with Kangana and wanted to spoil her name by showing that she always gets into fights and creates controversies.
Another controversial misfortune attached to Judgementall Hai Kya was its previous name Mental Hai Kya, which was rejected by the Censor Board citing disregard to the mentally challenged and hence the producers had to change the name. However, what is bizarre is that a movie called Mental was released in 2016 and the censor board had no issues with that.
Moving on, Judgementall Hai Kya is produced by Ekta Kapoor and is written by Kanika Dhillon – quite powerful and experienced names. It is a black comedy that revolves around a murder and two suspects – Bobby (Kangana Ranaut) and Keshav (Rajkummar Rao). The movie also showcases a talented supporting cast including Satish Kaushik, Jimmy Shergill, Nushrat Bharucha, Amyra Dastur and Vikrant Massey. The trailer looks very promising, and I’m eagerly waiting for its release. Let’s all hope the movie does well, and everyone gets all the deserved credit.
