Cinderella and The Voyeurs – Movie Reviews
Cinderella on Amazon Prime Video is one of those films that have no real reason to exist. It’s boring, predictable, and had me cringing very often. There are only a couple of redeeming aspects to this terrible film. One of the things that I don’t hate about the movie is its performances. I’m not saying that the acting in this film is great or anything, but it’s not that bad, either.

Pierce Brosnan and Idina Menzel are easily the two best aspects of this entire film. However, the two main actors in this film aren’t nearly as good as Brosnan or Menzel. Camila Cabello and Nicholas Galitzine have some poor chemistry with each other, and their dialogue delivery is also pretty flawed.
I wouldn’t say that their performances are unconvincing, though. As for the characters that they play, I find them to be extremely bland. In fact, the only character that I actually find somewhat entertaining in this movie is Pierce Brosnan’s character. He has some funny moments in the third act of this film.
When it comes to the presentation of Cinderella, I only have negative things to say. The songs in this film are very distracting because they often feel out of place. The cinematography in this film is distractingly bad, too. Every other aspect of the presentation of this film is just very unimpressive.
However, something that I dislike about Cinderella even more than its presentation is its writing. Almost every single piece of dialogue in this film feels unnatural. As for the actual plot of this film, I find it to be way too generic. I was able to predict the outcome of Cinderella after simply watching the first act of this film.
The runtime of this movie is also way too long. There are so many scenes that are dragged out and boring. I have no idea why the pacing in this film is so slow. The runtime of Cinderella could easily be fifteen minutes shorter, and it would be a lot better.
One final issue that I have with this film is its actual title. This film tries to get its audience to call Cinderella by her real name, which is Ella, but for some reason, this film is still called Cinderella. That makes no sense at all. Overall, I don’t recommend checking this film out. It genuinely has no reason to exist, and it’s also just a flawed film with barely any redeeming aspects to it.

The Voyeurs on Amazon Prime Video stars Sydney Sweeney and Justice Smith in the lead roles, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Ben Hardy playing the supporting roles. The storyline of the movie revolves around a young couple who move into a Montreal city apartment and begin to spy on their neighbors and their daily activities. As things get dicey, the couple’s land is some sort of trouble that puts their lives in jeopardy.
Following the erotic-thriller trend which picked up in the last few years, The Voyeurs, unlike its Netflix counterparts, is watchable from start to finish. Although very silly, the storyline is serviceable and keeps you hooked to an extent till the very end. Moreover, Sydney Sweeney, the lead star, has that allure, glamor, and charm required to carry this film, and she did a fine job on the whole. The others were decent and had nothing extraordinary to work with.
However, if you’re planning to take this movie seriously and analyzing it critically, you will find a whole plethora of loopholes and problems from the beginning to the end. Beneath the fantasy land of charming couples, expensive Montreal city studio apartments, and a great soundtrack, this film suffers from absurdity in its story and beyond. But, if you’re watching this on Prime Video, at your home, and relaxing on your couch, I expect that you’re in a very comfortable mood and brush past these illogical plot holes in the film.
Overall, The Voyeurs on Amazon Prime Video delivers on its promise of being a decent erotic thriller. It includes extremely hot and attractive lead stars, and the entire presentation is very much suitable for a cozy evening watch. There are quite a few narrative flaws but I did not press play on this film expecting a masterpiece or even a pretty good thriller. Watch ‘The Voyeurs’ on Prime Video here.
