7. Vinci Da

Starring – Rudranil Ghosh, Ritwick Chakraborty
Director – Srijit Mukherjee
Genre – Suspense

Directed by Srijit Mukherji, Vinci Da is about a struggling make-up artist and stars Rudranil Ghosh as the titular character. Despite a few hiccups in the narration and the execution of the storyline, this movie surprises for the most part with its intriguing concept which is equally and suspenseful from beginning till the end. Additionally, remarkable performances from Rudranil Ghosh and Ritwick Chakraborty also complements the narrative as Vinci Da is one of the Best Bengali Movies on Amazon Prime.

6. Alinagarer Golokdhadha

Starring – Anirban Bhattacharya, Paran Bandyopadhyay
Director – Sayantan Ghosal
Genre – Drama

A group of people set out to discover a fortune that will make them invincible. This movie is outstanding amongst other Bengali authentic spine-chillers I have seen with crisp content. The performances from the cast are spectacular, and I was surprised to see Anirban Bhattacharya in his role as he acted in such a controlled way. His exceptional acting made me flabbergasted, and his comic planning is commendable. A must-watch. One of the Best Bengali Movies on Amazon Prime.

5. Gumnaami

Starring – Prosenjit Chatterjree, Anirban Bhattacharya
Director – Srijit Mukherji
Genre – Drama

In logical inconsistency to past cases, a columnist concocts a hypothesis around the baffling presence and passing of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as Gumnaami Baba. Although Srijit brings his charming directorial abilities the second half appears to be extended, and the scenes between Anirban and his repelled spouse could have been explained well.

4. Dhananjoy (2019)

Starring – Shrikant Mohta, Mahendra Soni
Director – Arindam Sil
Genre – Drama

The story details the conviction of Dhananjoy, blamed for the grisly homicide of Hetal Parekh, which occurred in the year 1990. Based on conditional proof and the perished mother’s announcement, Dhananjoy Chatterjee-a safety officer, was executed and hanged to death on the early stretches of 15th August 2004, in the wake of serving detainment for 14 long years and having spoken to all degrees of court in the nation; lastly, to the President of India. The content, the story writing, arranging the events in a proper sequence, showing the avoided sides of the real case, etc. were portrayed so decently. One of the Best Bengali Movies on Amazon Prime.

3. Generation Ami

Starring – Shrikant Mohta, Mahendra Soni
Director – Suman Ghosh
Genre – Drama

Old wine in another jug isn’t generally a terrible thing, particularly if the wine is acceptable. Mainak Bhaumik’s most recent film Generation Ami is a story that has the same old thing to offer. We have heard this story on many occasions. Indeed, the film had all the likelihood of turning out badly. Yet, it has such a solid message and is told with such splendid energy that it keeps you connected from beginning to end. This, without having anything new to offer, for the story.

2. Kadambari

Starring – Konkona Sen Sharma, Parambrata Chattopadhyay
Director – Suman Ghosh
Genre – Drama

Kadambari is a drama about the poet and renowned writer Rabindranath Tagore and his sister-in-law. Each snapshot of the film is so enrapturing. The forlornness, despondency, outrage, and the long for affection is very much communicated by Konkona Sen Sharma. Parambrata Chattopadhyay did justice to his role. Overall, Kadambari is a must-watch for everyone who truly adores Bengali writing and Tagore’s composition. One of the Best Bengali Movies on Amazon Prime.

1. Aami Ashbo Phirey

Starring – Anjan Dutt, Swastika Mukherjee
Director – Anjan Dutt
Genre – Drama

A battling artist/musician coincidentally goes into a different universe through virtual media and completely changes themselves of four individuals to improve things, whose lives have been associated with a brutal occurrence.

An outright treat for your eyes, and ears. Anjan Dutta, as usual, indicated known stories and plots with such an alternate perspective. It amazingly portrays the unceasing depression inside us and instructs us to live with it. Acting is astonishing, and I am amazed by Sourashini’s acting abilities. Neel Dutta’s work here is astounding yet, what I think wins everybody’s love is Anjan Dutta’s manner in which he narrated his story.
