Bad Boys: Ride or Die Review – A Non-Stop Fun Ride!
Going into Bad Boys: Ride or Die, I expected a few laughs, solid action, and the trademark chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence—basically, the usual from a Bad Boys movie. And to my surprise, the film delivered exactly that and more. The story begins with Mike and Marcus attempting to clear the name of their late Captain, Conrad Howard, who has been falsely accused of conspiracy, adding an intriguing twist to their adventure.

The comedy in Bad Boys: Ride or Die hit the mark for me, thanks to the excellent chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, who were both in peak form. The ridiculous jokes, banter, sarcasm, and emotional moments all felt spot-on and true to their characters. Martin Lawrence, in particular, shined bright with his wacky humor and standout performance, ensuring there wasn’t a dull moment in the film. This makes it a perfect fit for the ‘Summer Blockbuster’ tag.
Moving on to the action scenes, directors Adil & Bilall, along with cinematographer Robrecht Heyvaert, employed a diverse range of techniques to maintain dynamic sequences. However, the frequent quick camera cuts were a drawback for me, diminishing the visual appeal. Nevertheless, the relentless action, combined with moments of humor, kept the movie captivating. The fast-paced nature ensured a consistently thrilling momentum, preventing dull or off-tempo moments.

As for the negatives, the storyline felt very basic and predictable, something we’ve seen a million times before. However, this movie isn’t primarily about the story. It’s about all the positive elements I mentioned earlier—the chemistry, comedy, and action. For these reasons, I would still recommend watching this film. It’s great fun and something I really enjoyed watching on the big screen.
