Anand was a genuine guy who was following June almost every time, and that tale was told through a song in the second half of the movie. A K Sajan’s Neeyum Njanum is an old-fashioned romantic story with some contemporary elements, packed with thrill and comedy. The plot revolves around Hashmi and Yakub, their conventional style of love from roadside stalking to the protagonist’s sheer persistence ending up in a happily married couple. The romantic musical first half is pleasing to watch, and the movie diversifies the mood in the second half.
In the turmoil of events, Hashmi and Yakub had a lot of hurdles in the waiting. The thrilling second half is filled with cute romantic moments of Hashmi from the past, and it’s delightful to watch the story from the female lead’s perspective. Though the movie has social and political implications, the heart of Neeyum Njanum is pure romance.
