Wrath of Man Review: Pretty Solid & Enjoyable!

Directed by Guy Ritchie, Wrath of Man, the 2021 action-thriller is based on the 2004 French film Cash Truck and stars Jason Statham in the lead role with Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, and others playing the supporting cast.

Mysterious and wild-eyed, the storyline of Wrath of Man revolves around a new security guard for a cash truck, who surprises his co-workers when he unleashes his precision skills during a heist. The crew is left wondering who he is and where he came from. Soon, the marksman’s ultimate motive becomes clear as he takes dramatic and certain steps to settle a score.

If you ask me, Wrath of Man is Guy Ritchie’s version of a Kill Bill-ish tale of bloody revenge. Nevertheless, if you want to know if this film is worth watching, then yes. Now it’s a Guy Ritchie flick, and if you know anything about his movies, you know it has its highs, then it has its lows, but by the end, he still manages to, as they say, stick the landing. And that is why I still think it’s worth seeing if you’re looking for a film to venture off to the theater in this depressing pandemic era.

Like I said, good, but not great. I mean, Wrath of Man starts well and has a great setup, but somewhere along the way, it loses its momentum. And by the end, while still enjoyable, I just wasn’t blown away. But still, I was satisfied with the ending, just not wowed.

But if you like action films, Guy Ritchie still delivers, Jason Statham, in his fourth collaboration with Ritchie, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and Revolver being the other three is a treat to see on-screen as always. Overall, Wrath of Man is pretty solid and enjoyable.
