The Christmas Chronicles 2 Review: An Easy and a Harmless Comedy!
Directed by Chris Columbus, The Christmas Chronicles 2, the Netflix holiday release starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, narrates a simple, light-hearted story suitable for a cozy evening watch.
With Darby Camp, Jazhir Bruno, and Julian Dennison as the supporting cast, the storyline of The Christmas Chronicles 2 begins when a bratty, troublesome elf, rusticated from their village in the North Pole plots an elaborate plan to return and diminish the Christmas spirit in the Santa’s village.

With all his naughty tactics going according to plan, Santa, with the help of Kate and Jack, tries to put an end to the annoying elf and, in the process, attempts to save Christmas for the greater good.
Understanding the situation and knowing that people will only watch this movie with an already occupied brain on a holiday weekend, writers Matt Lieberman and Chris Columbus did not attempt to pack in a ton of stuff and overcomplicate the storyline.
The narrative with the ultimate goal of saving Christmas is an easy digest bolstered with light-hearted comedy, harmless dialogue, and fun-filled adventures. The wholesome, happy-go-lucky characters who are called the “True Believers” in the film add more vibrance to the already positive plot with their charm and innocence.
Supporting the upbeat story, The Christmas Chronicles 2 also benefits from its quick pace and does not make you feel the 112-minute runtime. Chris Columbus, who previously helmed a few of the best Christmas films in Home Alone 1 and 2 certainly, attempts to capture that winter holiday vibe and succeeds to an extent.
The performances from the cast were wholesome altogether, alongside the beautiful chemistry between Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, who look stunning together as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
