Good Sam Review: Light! Upbeat!

Cast – Tiya Sircar
Director – Kate Melville
Genre – Mystery Drama
Streaming Platform – Netflix

Introduction

Netflix’s new mystery-drama film Good Sam tells a heart-warming story about a Good Samaritan who keeps leaving $100,000 cash at random strangers doorsteps as an act of goodwill. Directed by Kate Melville, this movie stars Tiya Sircar (Star Wars Rebels fame) as our main protagonist and Chad Connell and Marco Grazzini as the supporting cast.

Rationalization

Amidst all the Avengers: Endgame and Game of Thrones chaos, Good Sam actually feels like a breath of fresh air, a feel-good story with a positive ending surrounded with a cheerful vibe. Although the narrative is utterly predictable from start to finish, the movie keeps you entertained as the storyline accelerates on a decent pace and the characters are tolerable enough to get through despite the fact that they’re generic and incredibly one-note. The romantic angle between the leads felt cheesy at times, and the ordinary dialogue didn’t compliment the relationship all that much. But, the decent performances, especially from Tiya Sircar was impressive and fairly good throughout the runtime.

Conclusion

Overall, Good Sam is an entertaining mix between a YouTube prank video and a mediocre romantic angle between the leads. It is light, upbeat, and a decent family film which you’ll not regret watching.
