First off, I really enjoyed watching Cha Cha Real Smooth. I’m guessing I like this movie a little more because of my age and I recently felt like this. It really just struck a cord for me. Cooper Raiff’s writing and direction were very in sync with what he wanted to say with his movie. The script works so well to portray the various relationships that Raiff’s character has and how the affect how he sees himself and his place in the world with how young he is.
Everyone in this movie did a great job, but Dakota Johnson is the standout by far, and gives a class A performance. All in all, Cha Cha Real Smooth was something I connected with, had sold writing, direction by Cooper Raiff, and great acting by the entire cast. Watch the movie on Apple TV+ here.
‘Cha Cha Real Smooth’ Rating – 4/5

Good Luck to You, Leo Grande takes place almost entirely in one hotel room with just Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack’s characters. I found this to be a very creative and effective character study of two people each with different lives figuring out what they do and do not share in common with each other. Fine performances from the two leads make Brand’s script come to life and it feels like you really are watching just two people in this awkward situation talk about their lives with one another.
I think this movie achieves what it sets out to do and can’t do much to be better than what the idea limits itself to. All in all, Good Luck to You, Leo Grande is simply a good movie.
