Avatar: The Way of Water Review – An Other-Worldly Experience!
The stakes are high. For James Cameron, for Na’vi, and most importantly, for Avatar: The Way of Water to live up to everything the 2009 film accomplished. Avatar was by far one of the best technical accomplishments in CGI filmmaking. It was the highest-grossing film of all time, got beaten, re-released and now again holds the top position. Almost fourteen years later, James Cameron has released the second installment in a journey like no other. The big question is, did it succeed in somehow topping the first? YES. YES, IT HAS.

If you thought the effects for the first Avatar were stellar, you’re in for a treat. Avatar: The Way of Water’s special effects transport you to another world you never believed was possible. Cameron’s aerial and moving shots make Pandora look like a heavenly land, even if it is being invaded by Quaritch and the sky people yet again. Seeing the film in IMAX 3D was a transformative experience I haven’t felt in a blockbuster, probably ever. If you have the chance, it’s the best way to experience the movie.
The story of Avatar: The Way of Water expands to create a deeper connection with the characters. Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) have four children who play a large part in the film. The family dynamic is strongly written and it amps up the stakes of every situation. Each child gets their own time to shine as their role in the story is set up incredibly.
It’s time. #AvatarTheWayOfWater is now playing only in theaters.

Cameron paces the movie in a way that allows for emotional and action-packed moments throughout, leading to an insane conclusion. With a three-hour and minute runtime, no minute is wasted. It is a solid script with room to continue and expand the world without feeling like anything was left out. Avatar: The Way of Water is a film much better experienced than anybody could possibly talk or write about. That is what makes a movie worth seeing, the need to see all it has to offer because words aren’t enough. This is a MUST-SEE in theaters. You will not be disappointed and the Avatar saga is far from over.
‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ Rating – 4/5
