Vikram Vedha - Movie Review

Verdict – “Dark, Deep, Raw and Fine Filmmaking!”

Vikram (R. Madhavan) is a rough, fierce cop whose only aim is to eliminate a ruthless gangster. He is married to Priya (Shraddha Srinath), who is a lawyer and also has a soft side in his heart despite being merciless. Madhavan is a perfect choice for the role as he pulls it off with ease with his evergreen charm and screen presence.

Vedha (Vijay Sethupathy) is the most feared North Madras Gangster, who is on a run as Vikram and his special team of police wants to encounter him and his gangster-friends. Vijay Sethupathy as Vedha is the latest baddie in the tinsel town. With his look, laugh, comical body language, dialogue delivery, Vijay Sethupathy produces what’s needed utmost for the characters evil outlook and joins the elite club of baddies in Tamil Cinema.

Pushkar and Gayathri are serious couple goals. The director duo is only three films old yet the never failed to impress us with their narrative style and direction. Coming up with a not so new base story, however, the way in which they have recited is what that matters the most.

Bringing the mythological characters Vikramaditya and Vedhalam as the main leads characters, every time Vikram catches Vedha, the latter narrates a story from his life and ask him for his judgment on what he should have done during that situation. But Vikram realizes only later that Vedha has given him hints through the story he had narrated to him.

In the end, backed up by sheer acting skills of Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathy, top notch technical brilliance and intense background score, Vikram Vedha is definitely one of the best movies to be released this year and one of the finest crime thriller made in Tamil Cinema Industry with deep characters.

My Rating – 4/5
