Kick - Movie Review

Verdict - "Do yourself a favour and never opt for getting this KICK"

Jaded, exhausted and infuriated! I'm still searching for my kick on a tedious combat zone of ludicrous action, unappealing romance and humourless comedy.

As y'all are very well-known about the summary of the movie, it's just identical to Dhoom 3, a distinct intellectual superman who is finally gratified by nicking money from the blatant wealthy guys for obvious reasons that are adequate.

Let's clear things out! Back in 2009, when Surender Reddy presented Kick to the telugu audience, it felt fresh, comical and smart. Nadiadwala's adaptation falls short in everything it tackled with. And to be very clear, I'm not drawing any comaprisons!

The screenplay was stale all throughout the movie. It encountered a good amount of pacing issues, the romantic love segment between Salman and Jacqueline was never plausible and it practically debased the most pleasurable thing called "Love" in many ways. Neither did the comedic parts of the movie crack well, it just felt like an artificial humour which is just used to make it a complete movie.

In this age and time it all depends on how you sell the movie to your audience and Kick took off fashionably by marketing it's key aspects bordering on fast cars, boom-bastic explosions and fuming action. The question is, does it deliver well in the movie? I would say no! The action sequences were lazy as it ruined the fun because of the sluggish camerawork and it's simply not logical.

Randeep Hooda is splendid in his role, unfortunately his character never felt like an ominous threat to the main protagonist of the film and that's even one of my complaints for the movie. The good guy-bad guy thing never paid off due to the unappealing screenplay. Nawazuddin Siddiqui fairly entertains with his weird expressions and considering him as a tough menace is a bit irregular.

The big guy Salman is yet again an amusing, clever and a soulful man and he never disappoints in entertaining with his over-the-top action sequences and that's all we anticipate for. Jacqueline portrayed a significant character but is incredibly wasted with her minimal screentime, apart from showing her good looks.

Nonetheless, the purpose of the movie was convincing and it played out well after a string of debacle. And Salman who is popular with his Being Human campaign felt like a good front runner to coup these kind of subjects. But I'm never into the movie, despite of it's outlandish action and drama, Kick is not a good adaptation as per me and will probably be remembered only for a brief amount of time.

My Rating - 2/5 | Grade - C (Meh! Probably a rental!)
